Outlet replacements pay the bills. EV chargers, whole-home generators, and panel upgrades grow the business. Here's how to fill the calendar with them.
If you're an electrician chasing $150 service calls, you're working twice as hard as the shop next door booking $4,000 panel upgrades and $2,500 EV charger installs. The good news, the marketing for high-margin work is mostly free.
1. Build one real page per high-margin service. EV charger install. Whole-home generator. 200-amp panel upgrade. Sub-panel for an ADU. Each one needs its own page with pricing ranges, photos, FAQs, and the city in the title. Generic 'electrical services' pages do not rank for these intents anymore.
2. Show your licensing everywhere. Permit numbers, master electrician credentials, manufacturer certifications (Generac, Tesla, ChargePoint). High-ticket buyers are nervous buyers. Visible trust signals close the gap.
3. Bid on the right Google Ads keywords. 'EV charger installation [city]' costs $4–8 per click and books $2,500 jobs. 'Electrician near me' costs $12+ and mostly books $200 outlet swaps. Fish where the big fish swim.
4. Get reviews that mention the specific service. 'Great panel upgrade, finished in one day' is worth ten 'Great work!' reviews. The keyword in the review helps you rank for that service in the Map Pack.
Same trucks. Same techs. Different marketing focus. That's the gap between a $1M shop and a $3M shop.
