No theory. Twelve things you or your marketing team can do this month to show up in the Map Pack and get more calls.
Local SEO is not mysterious. It's a short list of things done consistently while your competitors do them once and forget. Here's the list we work through for every client.
1. Fix the primary category on your Google Business Profile. It's the single biggest lever in the Map Pack. 'Plumber' and 'Drainage service' rank for different searches.
2. Add every real secondary service to the profile and keep the service list matching what people type.
3. Post to the profile weekly with real job photos. Activity is a ranking signal and it makes you look busy.
4. Ask for reviews after every job, by text, with a direct link. Reply to all of them, including the bad one.
5. Get the town named in reviews naturally. 'Great water heater install in Loveland' does more than 'Great service.'
6. Build one page per service, not one 'Services' page. A page about water heater replacement can rank. A bullet cannot.
7. Build a page only for towns you actually serve, with real content about that town. Thin copy-paste city pages get ignored.
8. Put your address, phone and hours in text on the site, matching the Google profile exactly.
9. Add local business schema so search engines can read the address, hours and reviews without guessing.
10. Make the site fast on a phone. Most local searches happen on mobile and slow pages lose the call before it happens.
11. Put the phone number in the header as a tap-to-call link on every page.
12. Publish real prices or price ranges. Homeowners search costs, and pages with numbers win those searches now that AI answers absorb the vague ones.
That's it. None of it is clever. All of it takes someone doing it every week. If you'd rather hand it off, that's what the plans on our local SEO page cover, and it's part of the full stack we run as a marketing agency for trades.
